MIDA – South End

MIDA’s South End restaurant puts pasta at the center of dinner, with ricotta gnocchi cacio e pepe, paccheri Bolognese and mushroom pappardelle among the choices. Chef-owner Douglass Williams’s Tremont Street dining room has 54 seats, so it makes sense to book ahead. Start with fontina-filled arancini or pork meatballs, then leave room for smoked short rib lasagna or a second pasta to share. Gluten-free pasta is available on request. The restaurant also serves weekend brunch and offers takeout. For outdoor seating, call on the day you want to visit; patio reservations are handled separately. Parties of five to eight should call directly rather than rely on the online booking calendar.
