MIDA’s East Boston restaurant sits at the end of a pier, with water on three sides and downtown Boston across the harbor. The views are a reason to come, but dinner has its own appeal: arancini with fontina, ricotta gnocchi cacio e pepe, bucatini all’amatriciana and pizzas with a lightly charred crust. Large windows bring the waterfront into the dining room, so an outdoor table is not the only way to enjoy it. The bar welcomes walk-ins, and weekend brunch gives you a daytime option. If you want the patio, call that day; an outdoor-table request through OpenTable does not guarantee a seat outside.
