Marcelino’s Seaport
Marcelino’s on Northern Avenue gives cocktails and Mediterranean food equal reasons to come by. The drinks use ingredients such as quince, cilantro, za’atar and orange blossom, alongside nonalcoholic options. A baklava-inspired cocktail combines whisky with honey, spices and orange blossom, while the nonalcoholic Jallab uses grapes, dates, carob and flower waters.
Food includes muhammara made with roasted red peppers, grilled chicken kebabs and a za’atar halloumi skillet. Hummus with shrimp and chili oil or roasted cauliflower with green tahini can join the table as well. The menu lends itself to ordering several dishes alongside drinks, rather than treating the bar as just a stop before dinner. Make sure your reservation is for Boston, since Marcelino’s also has a Providence location.
