Yunnan Kitchen
Yunnan Kitchen in the South End serves Dian cooking from China’s Yunnan province. Fried goat cheese comes with honey, lemon shredded chicken brings together herbs and chili oil, and sliced rice cakes are tossed with pickled mustard greens, pork, egg and tomato. Potatoes get several treatments, including a crisp shredded pancake and the coarsely mashed Grandma’s Potato. It’s a menu worth ordering across, particularly if you have a few people to share with. The Washington Street dining room has 49 seats, and the restaurant takes reservations by phone. Get the whole group there together: parties are seated only when everyone has arrived. Takeout is also available.
