Typhoon Asian Bistro
Typhoon Asian Bistro has been serving Boylston Street since 2000, with a menu that gives sushi its own considerable share of attention. Start with the hand rolls: salmon, yellowtail and fatty tuna are among the raw options, while baked mushroom, bok choy and vegetable fillings give people skipping fish something more interesting to order. The rolls arrive in cones of nori and are meant to be eaten as they come.
Lunch brings bento boxes, poke bowls and cooked dishes such as chicken teriyaki or Thai coconut fish curry. That range makes Typhoon useful when one person wants sashimi and another wants a hot meal. The family-owned restaurant also serves cocktails and stays open later on Friday and Saturday nights than it does during the week.
