Maruichi Select

Maruichi Select is the Japanese shop and cafe at 299 Harvard Street in Coolidge Corner. It is separate from Maruichi’s grocery store at 306 Harvard Street, across the street. Select combines browsing with prepared food: its direct menu includes hand rolls, chirashi and sashimi, giving you a reason to stop for a meal as well as shopping.

Hand-roll choices include spicy tuna, fried shrimp and salmon with avocado, with sets available if you want several. The shop also carries Japanese goods, and the company introduced this Brookline Select concept in 2021. If you are looking for a particular product, call the Select store rather than assuming both nearby Maruichi locations carry the same stock. Food service and retail hours may differ, so check before planning a visit around the cafe.
