Democracy Brewing on Temple Place is a worker-owned brewery with a full food menu, so a beer tasting can turn into dinner without changing addresses. A flight of four small pours is a useful way to compare what’s brewing. The tap list ranges across styles, including lighter lagers, pale ales, IPAs and stout, rather than making every choice a variation on hops.

The kitchen serves wings, burgers and a crispy cod sandwich, with cauliflower and a tofu dish offering other directions. The burger with bacon and linguiça makes a particularly substantial order. This is the indoor brewery near Boston Common, separate from Democracy’s seasonal City Hall beer garden. Monday service starts later than the rest of the week.
