Artisans Asylum
Artisans Asylum is a nonprofit makerspace in Brighton where you can learn a shop and then use it. Holton Street is the public building, and the place you check in. It holds eight workshops, 77 artist studios, classrooms, and Gallery A2, including jewelry, fiber, screen printing, and digital fabrication. A short walk away, Antwerp Street holds the heavier tools: five more workshops and 70 studios, for members, invited guests, and people in a class.
You do not have to join to start. Take a class, buy a day pass, or rent a studio. The campus also has wood, metal, machining, and glass enamel shops, and people come to weld, sew, and build a prototype.
