On May 29, Foxglove Terrace officially launched for the summer, marking a milestone for The Atlas Hotel and the next chapter in Allston’s evolution.

Foxglove Terrace summer launch

As guests arrived at the summer launch of Foxglove Terrace, the excitement was palpable. A line of cars waiting for valet stretched down the block. Attendees made their way into The Atlas Hotel and up to the terrace, where two stylish Foxglove hosts greeted them with a signature cocktail of their choice.

Within minutes, the terrace was buzzing. DJ Knife set the soundtrack for the evening while guests moved between the bar and terrace, sampling cocktails and food from the Foxglove team, reconnecting with old friends, making new introductions, and taking in sweeping views of the city.

A new chapter for Allston

Perched above Western Avenue, Foxglove Terrace is the rooftop restaurant and bar of The Atlas Hotel, one of the most significant new developments to open in Allston. Located in the heart of a rapidly changing neighborhood, the hotel is part of a wave of new businesses and investment reshaping this part of the city.

The Atlas Hotel sits directly across from Harvard Business School and between Boston and Cambridge, placing it at the crossroads of two of the region’s most influential communities. The Harvard Coop recently opened its first concept store inside the hotel, joining Foxglove Terrace and Ama at The Atlas in creating a destination that feels distinctly connected to the neighborhood.

Oysters, cocktails, and DJ Knife

As the Foxglove launch unfolded, guests moved between the bar and terrace, sampling a menu that ranged from Watch Hill oysters topped with Ossetra caviar to gochujang chicken skewers and short rib ssam sliders layered with pickled carrot, daikon, and fresh herbs. Behind the bar, Will Isaza and his team poured signature cocktails including the Black Moon Rising, the mezcal-forward Nebula, and the City State, a sparkling combination of Grey Goose vodka, St. Germain, chili okra, and bubbles. Meanwhile, DJ Knife kept the mood dialed in with a seamless mix of R&B and hip hop.

From the visionary founders of Comfort Kitchen

Foxglove Terrace and Ama are the latest venture from husband-and-wife team Biplaw Rai and Nyacko Pearl Perry, the founders behind Comfort Kitchen in Dorchester. Through food, they have built spaces centered on community, culture, and connection. Foxglove feels designed to bring people together, whether over cocktails on the terrace or dinner downstairs at Ama. It’s a natural extension of the approach that helped make Comfort Kitchen one of Boston’s most celebrated restaurant success stories.

Worlds colliding

One of the more interesting aspects of the evening was the crowd itself. Through Secret Boston’s network, the guest list brought together a cross-section of the city rarely found in the same room. Young professionals mingled with seasoned executives. Food and fashion influencers traded stories with founders, public officials, media personalities, longtime Bostonians, and even a few faces from Hollywood.

Hey, isn’t that…?

Among those in attendance were actress Jaimie Alexander, best known for her starring role in Blindspot and as Lady Sif in the Thor franchise, and acclaimed actor and singer Darren Criss, best known for his breakout role as Blaine Anderson on Glee, his Golden Globe-winning performance in The Assassination of Gianni Versace, and his recent Broadway run in Maybe Happy Ending, for which he won the Tony Award for Best Actor.

Also spotted throughout the evening were Kayak founder Paul English and former New England Patriots player Jermaine Wiggins, along with members of the media including Bianca Beltrán, Hannah Donnelly, Kwani A. Lunis, and the team from Boston Magazine, among others.

Candid moments

BFA photographer Vikram Valluri spent the evening shooting the event and, instead of pulling people aside for posed photos, focused on what was actually happening. The resulting gallery is filled with images that feel intimate and real.

Winding down

As the sun disappeared and the city lights came on, cocktails kept flowing and the music carried on late into the night. A new DJ took over, Foxglove opened to the public for its regular Friday night party, and what began as a launch celebration gave way to a full night out.

Rising star

Despite sitting atop a hotel, Foxglove feels like a hidden gem, filled with people who are always in the know. If this night was any indication of what’s ahead, Foxglove Terrace is poised to become one of Boston’s most sought-after rooftops.
