One of the biggest music education events of the year is coming back to campus. Berklee Online is hosting its annual Berklee Onsite conference on May 29 and 30, and it is open to anyone who wants to step inside the music industry.

The two-day event takes over Berklee College of Music with a full schedule of workshops, panels, performances, and networking sessions led by faculty and industry professionals.

A keynote from one of music’s top innovators

The conference opens with a keynote from Mark Ethier, executive director of Berklee’s Emerging Artistic Technology Lab and cofounder of iZotope.

Ethier was named one of SPIN’s Most Influential People in Music for 2026, and his work has helped shape the tools used by artists, producers, and engineers across the industry.

What you can actually do there

This is not a sit-and-watch conference. The lineup is built for hands-on learning and real conversations.

Expect sessions like:

  • Negotiating your next big gig with Berklee’s music management faculty
  • Film scoring techniques for smaller budgets
  • A live guitar workshop and jam session
  • A deep dive into the songwriting of Taylor Swift
  • Breaking down how the Billboard Hot 100 can guide your strategy

Whether you write, produce, perform, or teach, the sessions cover both creative and business sides of the industry.

A global crowd in the middle of Boston

What started as a way for online students to meet in person has grown into a global gathering. Past conferences have brought in attendees from nearly 30 countries and across the U.S.

Now it is open to anyone interested in music, which means you will be surrounded by artists, producers, and industry professionals all in one place.

Why it matters

Events like this do not happen often at this scale in Boston. It is a rare chance to learn directly from people working at the highest levels of music and technology, while also meeting collaborators who are building what comes next.

Registration is open through May 29, and the full schedule is already live.

If you have ever wanted to understand how the music industry actually works, this is where to start.
