Originally constructed in 1911, The Substation was once part of Boston’s trolley power network. For decades after its decommissioning in 1971, it stood vacant, its rich history waiting to be rejuvenated. Today, it is preserved and has been transformed into an awesome space that honors its past while looking towards the future.

The journey of The Substation’s redevelopment has been acknowledged with multiple awards and grants, reflecting its significant impact on preservation and community building.
