Tonino

Tonino is a small Italian-inspired restaurant on Centre Street in Jamaica Plain, drawing on the neighborhood trattorias and aperitivo bars around Rome. Its scratch cooking includes house-baked pizza bianca, mortadella with pickles and tiramisu made with homemade ladyfingers. The size of the room makes it a natural choice for dinner with a partner or a few friends, but also makes planning worthwhile. Reservations open 30 days ahead at noon, and walk-in space is generally limited to one or two people. If you cannot get a table, the takeout menu offers whole pizzas, including pepperoni with hot honey and eggplant with ricotta. Add a salad and dessert and you can still make a meal of it at home.
