South Street Diner

South Street Diner is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. At an hour when much of Boston has stopped serving food, that is a fairly important detail. The Kneeland Street diner is close to South Station and draws people at both ends of the day, from early starts to very late finishes.

Built in 1947 by the Worcester Dining Company, it originally served local factory workers and was once known as the Blue Diner. Sol Sidell now owns and operates it. The building gives a meal here a different setting from a modern breakfast café, and the round-the-clock service is the main reason to remember the address.
