Shōjō Boston
Shōjō Boston on Tyler Street pairs cocktails with Asian-inspired dishes that make a good argument for ordering more than bar snacks. Pork belly bao arrive with smoked barbecue sauce and kimchi; the Shōjōnator puts a beef burger, bacon and kimcheese inside a sesame bao bun. Duck-fat fries come with sriracha aioli, while Shadowless Fries add spicy beef mapo tofu and kimcheese. For something else to share, consider edamame dumplings over truffle corn chowder or salt-and-pepper calamari with jalapeño-lime aioli. The Chinatown restaurant works for drinks and a few plates or a fuller meal built around bao, fried rice and dumplings. Check the current menu before settling on an order.
