Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom

The Sam Adams Downtown Boston Taproom has three floors for a beer break near Faneuil Hall, including a rooftop deck and beer-hall tables downstairs. The address is close to the Samuel Adams statue, so the surroundings do some of the explaining. This is the downtown taproom, separate from the company’s Jamaica Plain brewery.

You can stop for a pint or book a more structured tasting. Twilight Tastings are 45-minute sessions for adults 21 and older, with eight beer samples, a look at the brewing area and a staff member to explain the process. Each session has eight seats. State and Government Center stations are nearby, useful when everyone would rather leave the car out of the plan.
