Saloniki Greek – Downtown
Saloniki at One Beacon Street puts fries inside its pita sandwiches, which settles the side-order question only if you have unusual restraint. Grilled chicken, braised pork and lamb meatballs are among the fillings. Vegetarians can choose zucchini-feta fritters, while the falafel pita comes with hummus, garlic sauce and slaw.
Plates offer a fuller spread with pita, chopped Greek salad and a choice of sides. You can also build a smaller meal from meze such as spanakopita, lemon potatoes and pita with spreads. Baklava and Greek frozen yogurt give you a reason to pause before leaving. This Beacon Street location opens daily for lunch and dinner, convenient for Government Center and the edge of Beacon Hill.
