Legal Sea Foods at Long Wharf puts a seafood meal close to the Aquarium, harbor cruises and the waterfront. There’s a large bar and an open lounge inside, plus a seasonal patio for eating outdoors. That makes it an easy place to meet after an afternoon by the water, whether you’re ordering a lobster roll or settling in for a longer dinner.

Oysters, lobster and other New England seafood fill out the menu. The restaurant takes reservations, helpful when your plans depend on a boat departure or a visit with family. This is the 255 State Street branch, right by Long Wharf. It’s a different location from Legal’s Downtown Crossing and Seaport restaurants, despite the shared name.
