Milk Street Cafe
Milk Street Café gives downtown lunch a little more variety than the usual sandwich decision. Its daily specials include separate meat, fish and vegetarian entrées, plus soups and pizza. Depending on the day, that might mean chicken Marsala, salmon, stuffed peppers or mushroom lasagna. The menu changes through the week, so it’s worth looking at the day’s selection before heading over.
The family-owned café has been on Milk Street since 1981. Despite its large catering business, this is also a public place to eat breakfast or lunch, with seating, a grab-and-go fridge and pickup ordering. It opens at 7 a.m. on weekdays and closes at 3 p.m.; weekend plans should go elsewhere.
