Juliet on Washington Street in Union Square works for breakfast as well as a longer dinner. The daytime menu includes omelettes, a Gruyère-and-bacon breakfast sandwich, and croques with ham or mushrooms. Come later for mussels and fries, steak frites, or pollock meunière with caper sauce. The menu changes, so treat those as examples of the kitchen’s French-leaning range.

Founded by Katrina Jazayeri and Josh Lewin, Juliet has made pay and working conditions part of its business model from the start. You can book a table, order takeout, or arrange a gathering in its event space, The Annex. Weekend brunch has its own menu. Check the current service schedule before visiting, since Tuesday is the restaurant’s regular closed day.
