dbar
dbar has been a Dorchester Avenue restaurant since Brian Piccini opened it in 2005, in a building that used to be an Irish pub. The kitchen does seasonal New England cooking. Veal-and-pancetta Bolognese is a regular, and so is the chicken cooked under a brick, one of the original plates. Regulars liked that chicken enough that it also ended up at his steakhouse, Boston Chops.
Come for dinner, then stay for a cocktail or wine once the room turns into a lounge and dance floor. The kitchen closes before the bar does. Mondays are dark, and Fridays and Saturdays are the late nights. Book a table if you are coming to eat.
