Corner Tavern

The Corner Tavern on Marlborough Street puts a surprisingly broad menu into a neighborhood bar. Brisket tacos, a brisket Reuben panini, a Cubano and bar pizzas give you more to choose from than a plate of fries. Smaller dishes include bacon-ranch deviled eggs, wings and a hummus plate with vegetables, feta and warm naan.

The drinks list ranges from draft beer and wine to cocktails such as a Vieux Carré and a mezcal Paloma. There are nonalcoholic beers, too. At the Massachusetts Avenue end of Marlborough Street, it works for meeting someone over a drink and deciding to stay for food. The tavern advertises daily service until 2 a.m.; check kitchen availability separately if you’re planning a late meal rather than just a drink.
