China Gourmet is on Tyler Street in Chinatown. The menu reaches beyond the familiar takeout combinations, with Sichuan spicy beef slices, scallion chicken, jellyfish salad and pork soup dumplings among the starters. You can put together a meal from several small dishes or head straight to the meat, seafood and vegetable sections.

The soup choices are worth a look of their own: oxtail, mutton and beef offal stews appear alongside wonton soup and oyster-and-tofu soup. For a simpler order, the restaurant also has all-day combinations served with white rice. Both pickup and delivery are available through its own ordering site.
