Boston Ramen
Boston Ramen has five seats inside UMAI on Newbury Street, with a film-and-sound presentation built around the arrival of your bowl. Enter UMAI at 224 Newbury Street and head toward the rear; the black single door is the entrance. Once you’re seated, projections and music begin before the ramen appears through a separate pair of small serving doors.
Pork bowls range from one slice to twelve, and there’s a vegan option made without animal ingredients. The restaurant warns that its broth contains walnuts and cashews and that no gluten-free option is available. Seating is walk-in only, in arrival order, and payment is cashless. Allow about half an hour once seated; a group larger than five may need to split up.
