Boston Common Tennis Court

Boston Common has two full-size public tennis courts near the corner of Charles and Boylston streets. They put a game within walking distance of the Theater District, Beacon Hill and the Public Garden, so a racket can be part of a downtown afternoon. Boylston station on the Green Line is a convenient starting point for the walk through the park.

Bring your racket, balls and water, and read the posted court rules when you arrive. These are outdoor courts, so weather and maintenance affect when you can play. The Common also has designated pickleball facilities; check the court markings rather than assuming every space uses the same setup. After your game, the Public Garden is just across Charles Street for a walk or a place to sit.
