Drake Maye Inspires Seinfeld Themed Beer That Sold Out in Days
Boston has officially entered full Drake Maye mode.

As the New England Patriots return to the playoffs, excitement around Drake Maye has spilled far beyond Gillette Stadium and straight into the beer coolers.
At Stellwagen Beer Company, a new release called Love the Drake sold out in just three days after hitting shelves. The beer, a 4.6% ABV dry-hopped lager with a touch of Citra hops, has quickly become one of the fastest-moving products the brewery has ever produced.
And no, it is not just about what is in the can.
The name is doing serious work.
Love the Drake is a direct nod to both Patriots quarterback Drake Maye and a classic pop culture moment from Seinfeld. The combination has struck a nerve at exactly the right time, as Patriots fans look for signs that the franchise is truly back.
According to Stellwagen’s team, demand has been relentless. Phone calls and emails have been coming in nonstop, and recent batches have been spoken for within hours of release. Customers have lined up at opening time, many leaving with full cases.
To keep up, the brewery made the decision to release the beer exclusively in cans rather than kegs. Even that has not been enough to slow demand.
Brewery owner Mike Snowdale says the timing could not have been better. The Patriots are winning again, fans are optimistic again, and the energy feels familiar.
It has been a while since Boston has felt this collectively invested in a Patriots quarterback. The response to Love the Drake suggests that belief is real.
📺 The “Seinfeld” Reference, Explained
The phrase “Love the Drake” comes from a Season 4 episode of Seinfeld, where Jerry, Elaine, and Kramer become friends with a man named Drake. George, however, cannot stand him and struggles with the group’s insistence that he should simply learn to “love the Drake.”
The phrase is repeated throughout the episode as shorthand for forced enthusiasm and social pressure.
In Massachusetts, the meaning has shifted. When it comes to Drake Maye, the love appears to be genuine.
Designer Annika Phillips created the can artwork to reference both Drake Maye and Seinfeld without using any trademarked imagery, striking a balance between homage and originality.
For those still trying to get their hands on a can, Stellwagen says more batches are already in the works, with additional releases expected soon. Love the Drake is also available at select liquor stores throughout the region.
Boston loves a comeback story.
Right now, that story just happens to come in a can.
