Patriots QB Drake Maye is about to draw a major crowd in Boston
New England Patriots quarterback Drake Maye is stepping into the spotlight for one of Boston’s most impactful charity events.

Maye and his wife, Ann Michael Maye, will headline the 13th annual “Saving by Shaving” fundraiser on Tuesday, March 31, 2026, held at Granite Telecommunications headquarters in Quincy.
The event runs from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM and supports pediatric research and care at Boston Children’s Hospital.
This is not a small fundraiser.
Over the past 12 years, “Saving by Shaving” has raised more than $58.5 million, with over 12,000 participants shaving their heads or donating hair in support of children battling serious illness.
The way it works is simple and powerful.
For every person who shaves their head or donates at least eight inches of hair, $2,500 is donated, which is then matched by the Hale family for a total of $5,000 per participant.
That structure has helped turn the event into one of the most successful grassroots-style fundraisers in the region.
Who will be there
Drake Maye is one of several high-profile names expected to attend.
The event will also feature:
- Granite CEO Rob Hale
- Greg Hill of WEEI, serving as host
- Dr. Kevin Churchwell, CEO of Boston Children’s Hospital
- Quincy Mayor Thomas Koch
Together, the group highlights the mix of sports, business, and local leadership that has made the event a staple in the Boston community.
Important detail
The event is not open to the public, but media and invited participants will be on site.
Why this event matters
Boston Children’s Hospital is consistently ranked among the top pediatric hospitals in the country, and fundraising events like this directly support research, treatment, and care for families facing serious medical challenges.
For athletes like Maye, it is also a chance to connect with the community in a way that goes beyond the field.
And for Boston, it is a reminder of how strong the city’s philanthropic culture runs.
The bigger picture
With millions already raised and another major year expected, “Saving by Shaving” continues to grow.
The combination of local leadership, celebrity involvement, and a clear, tangible impact has made it one of the most recognizable charity events tied to Boston.
And this year, with one of the Patriots’ biggest names attached, the spotlight is only getting bigger.
