Retro Room

Retro Room sits downstairs from Back Bay Social on Boylston Street, with vinyl records at the center of its identity. The lounge pairs cocktails with a food menu that leaves room for an actual dinner: a smash burger, fried chicken sandwich, grilled cheese or steak and cheese. If you’re just settling in for drinks, there are wings, hummus and white-cheddar popcorn with hot honey to share.

The music gives you a reason to make this a destination after dinner, though there’s no need to eat elsewhere first. Dessert options include chocolate cake and Mississippi mud pie. Retro Room takes reservations and opens at 5 p.m. daily, closing at 11 p.m. It’s worth distinguishing from the restaurant upstairs when making plans or booking your table.
