Orpheus Performing Arts Treasures

Orpheus Performing Arts Treasures is a music shop on Commonwealth Avenue, with classical recordings at the center of a much wider collection. CDs and vinyl share space with scores, books, sheet music, autographs, posters and other performing-arts memorabilia. It’s a place to browse for a particular recording or spend time looking through formats that a streaming search won’t put in your hands.

The shop also maintains an online catalog, useful if you’re hunting for a specific item before making the trip. Find the Boston store in Suite LE at 362 Commonwealth Avenue in Back Bay. Its posted store schedule is limited to Wednesday through Saturday, so check before dropping by on another day. Despite the name, this is a retail shop rather than a theater, concert presenter or production company.
