The Publick House

The Publick House in Brookline takes Belgian, German and American beer seriously, and its food gives you a reason to settle in. The mac and cheese has a long list of additions, from bratwurst and mushrooms to shrimp and a parmesan panko crust. Beer turns up in the cooking, too: a pretzel comes with three beer cheeses, while the poutine uses Orval Trappist Ale gravy. Burgers, fish and chips and grilled swordfish round out dinner. The family-owned pub has been on Beacon Street since 2002. Indoor and outdoor tables can be reserved, and walk-ins are welcome. Call ahead for parties of seven or more, which require a group reservation and deposit.
