Alex’s Chimis

Alex’s Chimis has been serving Dominican chicken and sandwiches on Centre Street since 1998. The chimis in the name are Dominican-style burgers, with beef, chicken and roast pork versions on the menu. Rotisserie chicken is another reason to come: order a half chicken with two sides, or a whole bird for a larger meal. Fried chicken and chicharrón are options as well.

The side dishes make it easy to put together your own plate. Choose from cassava, green or sweet plantains, and rice with pigeon peas, among others. Drinks include passion fruit juice, tamarind and morir soñando, the orange juice and milk combination. Come for a sandwich or a chicken dinner; both have a place here.
