Celebrating the Pioneering Years of Pickleball

Pickleball, a sport that has seen a surge in popularity in recent years, found its local roots at the South Street tennis courts back in 2017. What started as a small group of amateur athletes has grown into a thriving community of sports lovers of all ages. The Pickle Stroll is a tribute to this journey, showcasing photographs, art, and memorabilia that document the evolution of pickleball in JP.

The Pickle Stroll at Insight Realty is more than just an exhibition; it’s an invitation to the community to participate and share their own pickleball experiences. The show will run from November 30 to December 4, with additional viewing opportunities on December 1-3.

The event will feature a short concert by the Boston Children’s Chorus and light refreshments from the Blue Frog Bakery. It’s an open invitation to enjoy food, drink, music, and the mesmerizing JP Holiday Light Show.

Adding to the festivities, the Jamaica Plain Holiday Light Show is set to dazzle y’all. This annual spectacle, known for being the only large-scale laser light show in Boston during the holiday season, will make its grand debut on December 2.

A Symphony of Lights and Music

This year’s light show is unique, featuring music as part of the experience. Viewers can scan a QR code and listen to accompanying music on their mobile devices as the show projects onto the steeple of First Baptist Church in Jamaica Plain. The show, created by artist Diego Delmar, promises to be a visual and auditory treat, featuring the elusive white squirrel of Jamaica Plain and celebrating the spirit of giving across various cultures.
