Ruckus! Brings the American Revolution to Life Inside Boston’s Old South Meeting House

Ruckus! is a 25-minute immersive show inside Old South Meeting House that puts audiences in the middle of the debate and defiance that helped ignite the American Revolution.
Instead of simply walking through exhibits, you’re surrounded by dynamic sound, lighting, and projected animation throughout the historic meeting hall.
The result is a fast-moving introduction to the people, arguments, and acts of defiance that shaped Boston’s role in the Revolution.

Ruckus! takes place inside Old South Meeting House at 310 Washington Street, using the historic space itself as the backdrop for the show.
Projected animations bring revolutionaries, Boston citizens, and other characters into the room, while sound and lighting move the story through the floor and balconies around the audience.
It’s designed for locals, visitors, families, groups, and anyone who wants to experience Boston history in a more immediate way.
And running at 25 minutes, it’s easy to build into a day downtown.
Your Ruckus! ticket includes more than the show
Admission to Ruckus! also includes general admission to Old South Meeting House and the Old State House.
Ticket holders can also access the exhibits, gallery talks, and tours offered at the two historic sites.
That makes Ruckus! a good starting point if you want to spend more time exploring Boston’s Revolutionary history after the show.
The organizers recommend visiting the Old State House after Ruckus! unless you’re attending the final show of the day, in which case they recommend visiting the Old State House first.
What to know before you go
Ruckus! is open to all ages.
Shows begin at 15 minutes past each hour starting at 10:15 AM, and advance tickets are strongly recommended because space is limited.
Plan to arrive at Old South Meeting House 15 to 20 minutes before your showtime. Late entry is not permitted more than five minutes after the show begins.
The entrance and Main Hall at Old South Meeting House are wheelchair accessible. The lower level, including the museum and restrooms, can be reached by elevator or stairs.
