Union Comedy
Union Comedy on Somerville Avenue is run by performers and devoted to longform improv: scenes and characters develop on the spot, rather than following a script. Weekend shows feature the theater’s own teams alongside guests from the Boston improv community. The lineup changes, and so does the material, making a return visit a different show even when you recognize the cast. Classes offer a way to try it yourself if watching leaves you curious. Porter Square is the nearer subway stop, roughly six-tenths of a mile away. EBT, WIC and ConnectorCare cardholders can get free admission to regularly scheduled shows when tickets are available; contact the theater or ask at the door.
