the Lawn on D

The Lawn on D is an outdoor gathering space beside the convention center, with lawn games, art installations, and seasonal public events. Admission is generally free, although individual events can require tickets. You can come with children, meet friends outside, or make a visit around something on the calendar. The Grove supplies food and drinks, and lawn games are available when it is open.

Check the day’s schedule before setting off, since private events and weather can close the space or change what is available. The outdoor season doesn’t run through winter. Dogs aren’t permitted apart from service animals, and the rules for bringing food change when concessions are operating. Allow time to look at the installations as well as play.
