The Huntington Theatre

The Huntington makes a strong case for picking a play you know nothing about. The Tony Award-winning company has a long history of backing new writers, and seven of its August Wilson productions played here before Broadway. Its seasons mix new work with established plays, so you can follow a favorite writer or find someone whose next play you’ll be waiting for.

The Huntington Avenue auditorium reopened in 2022 with new seats, better sightlines and improved acoustics. Check the season for dramas, comedies and musicals, but note the address when booking. The company also performs at the Calderwood Pavilion in the South End.
