The Garment District

The Garment District in Cambridge sells new and secondhand clothing, shoes and accessories across a store big enough to lose track of your shopping companion. There are departments for contemporary clothes and pieces from the eighties and nineties, plus Boston Costume for outfits that require more commitment than a different jacket. The By the Pound section is a separate way to shop, with clothing sold by weight rather than individual price tags. Give yourself time to look through the selection instead of arriving with one exact item in mind. The store is a walk from Kendall/MIT, and By the Pound closes earlier than the main shop on Fridays.
