Post Underground

Post Underground hosts live jazz downstairs at Brookline Veterans Post, at 386 Washington Street. Admission is free, all ages are welcome, and the organizers invite guests to bring their own food. There is also a cash bar, so bring cash if you plan to buy a drink rather than assuming card payment will be available.

The calendar is the key to visiting. This is a scheduled jazz series, generally running on Fridays in alternating months, with occasional extra dates that fall outside that pattern. Several groups can play on one evening, each with its own set time. Check the published lineup before leaving home; the building’s presence does not mean the club is open every night. It is a chance to hear local players without committing to a dinner reservation or an admission charge.
