Modern Underground is the restaurant and bar beneath Modern Pastry on Hanover Street, where a bakery stop can turn into a sit-down meal. The North End space has stone details and vintage chandeliers, but the menu keeps things casual: burgers, fried ravioli, pizza, and chicken parmigiana over linguine. Come in the morning for eggs Benedict or French toast, or make it a drinks stop with friends later on. The cocktail list includes espresso, pistachio, and banana bread martinis, alongside beer and wine.
