MIT Museum

The MIT Museum in Kendall Square gives you a way into the university’s work without enrolling. Exhibitions connect science, technology, art, and design, with subjects ranging from artificial intelligence to ocean research and Harold Edgerton’s experiments with photography. Interactive displays sit alongside objects from the museum’s collections, so there is more to do than read labels. The exhibition and program calendar changes; check it for workshops, talks, and the adults-only After Dark series. The museum is at 314 Main Street, beside the Kendall/MIT Red Line stop, rather than its former Massachusetts Avenue address. Leave large bags behind if you can, since they are not allowed in the galleries and locker space is limited.
