Mamma Maria overlooks North Square in the North End, with tall windows that make the neighborhood part of dinner. The kitchen works from regional Italian recipes and local seasonal ingredients, changing the menu daily. Its sample menu gives a sense of the cooking: rabbit pappardelle with pancetta and rosemary, lobster agnolotti and osso buco with saffron risotto. Think of those as examples rather than a guaranteed order on the night you visit. The restaurant also has five private dining rooms, including one small enough for two, which gives a birthday, anniversary or family dinner a little more privacy.
