Lip Lab in the Seaport makes choosing a lipstick a hands-on appointment. Work with a staff color specialist to develop a shade, then choose a scent and case color and give the finished product a name for engraving. Lipstick, gloss, balm and cheek sticks are among the custom options, so you can decide how much you want to make before booking. The Boston shop has moved to 80 Pier 4 Boulevard. Reservations are recommended; walk-ins depend on availability. Allow up to an hour for a two-person lipstick appointment, with larger groups taking longer. It is a sociable outing with a friend, and you leave with something you can actually wear.
