Lehrhaus

Lehrhaus combines a Jewish tavern with a house of learning on Washington Street in Somerville. You can come for dinner and drinks, take a class or pull a book from the shelves, and people of all backgrounds are welcome. The food draws on Jewish cooking from different parts of the world, with dishes such as a beet “pastrami” Reuben, mac and cheese kugel, and fish and chips served with amba vinegar and s’chug aioli. There are snacks for a shorter visit as well as larger plates. Classes and special events are booked separately, so check the calendar if you want to build an evening around one. Dinner alone is also a perfectly good reason to stop in.
