Kush Modern Mediterranean

Kush Modern Mediterranean opened in 2026 in the Sanborn Court courtyard in Union Square. Chefs Saba Wahid Duffy and Sara Wahid cook Mediterranean food with South Asian flavors. Curry-spiced falafel with maple tahini, lamb merguez kofta with herb yogurt, and a trio of dips (beet hummus, tzatziki, and spicy moutabel) are the small plates. Larger plates include a lamb burger with whipped feta and sweet potato fries, harissa brown sugar-braised beef, and roasted cod on tomato-fennel sauce.

There are 16 seats. Dinner is Tuesday through Saturday. Eat in and have a drink. If you want to cook it yourself, Duffy runs three-hour classes through the restaurant website. Fun fact: it is in the same courtyard as Backbar.
