Kaju Korean Cuisine
Kaju Korean Cuisine on Harvard Avenue is especially useful when you want a hot bowl of sundubu, the soft-tofu stew served in a ceramic pot. The menu offers versions with mushrooms, kimchi and pork, seafood, beef and other fillings. You choose the heat level and whether to add an egg, with a bowl of rice served alongside.
The standard soup uses beef-bone broth; a seaweed-based vegan broth is available on request, an important detail for a vegetable or mushroom order. Add a kimchi pancake, dumplings or japchae if you want dishes to share. The restaurant is run by first-generation Korean immigrants and serves lunch and dinner at 56 Harvard Avenue. Weekend visits are walk-in only; on weekdays, call to ask about a reservation.
