Fornax Bread Company
Fornax Bread Company has been on Corinth Street in Roslindale Village since 1997. Chris and Kimberly Fallon opened it, and they named the bakery after the Roman goddess of ovens. The counter is bread, morning pastries, coffee, sandwiches, soup, and salad. Breakfast can be a croissant, a scone, or a sandwich on brioche. Lunch is a hot sandwich, a pizzetta, or soup. They keep a few soups going each day, including butternut squash.
Eat in or take it to go. Their breads also go to restaurants around Boston. The house loaf is a boule. They bake baguettes, seeded rye, multi-grain, and brioche too. They are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily. They sell dog biscuits.
