Crane River Cheese Club

Crane River Cheese Club makes it possible to stop for a sandwich and leave with most of dinner. The Cambridge Street shop sells cheese, charcuterie, wine, beer and groceries, with coffee available by the cup or bag. Chef Brian Poe and Nick Giannotti are behind it, and the selection extends well beyond crackers and a wedge of cheddar: fresh-cut steaks, wild game, oils, vinegars and spice rubs are part of the shop’s range.

Sandwiches and salads cover lunch; the cheese and meat selection is useful when people are coming over and cooking has lost its appeal. There’s catering for larger gatherings, too. Find it beside the Tip Tap Room, on the Cambridge Street side of Beacon Hill.
