Boston Lyric Opera

Boston Lyric Opera has been putting opera on stages around Boston since 1976, and this is its 50th season. Mainstage productions play theaters across greater Boston, from reimagined classics to new work. The company has given world and US premieres, including Pulitzer Prize-winning operas, and each season the Jane and Steven Akin Emerging Artists work with the company.

The home base is Opera + Community Studios at 15 Channel Center Street in Fort Point. Some of the year-round community and education programs happen there. Others go out with partners, including the Boston Public Library and Boston Public Schools. The bigger productions are staged in theaters around the city, and the calendar names the house.
