89 Charles is an underground Beacon Hill cocktail bar with a 12-seat bar and a 30-seat lounge decorated in deep blues and antique brass. Come for drinks and something to snack on: the kitchen serves small plates rather than a full dinner menu. You can order a freezer martini or a rum Negroni alongside Ruffles with green goddess dip, local cheeses, or a Wagyu hot dog topped with truffle Kewpie and crispy onions. There are zero-proof cocktails, too, plus a small beer and wine selection. Tables can be reserved through Resy for groups of up to five. Bar seats go to walk-ins, and you’ll need to stop by in person to join the waitlist.
