About this event
Kick off holiday season with us at this inclusive, beginner-friendly pottery workshop! Learn to make handmade holiday gifts or home décor from clay!
Whether you come for the creativity, community, or craft beer, this guided clay workshop is all about making something fun while you sip and socialize. You’ll learn the pottery basics, and leave with a one-of-a-kind piece (or two) you built by hand as well as a deeper sense of calm. Perfect for date night, catching up with friends, or coming solo to meet new people.
Bonus: We donate $1 from every ticket to mental health initiatives.
Your ticket includes:
- Something to Sip On: A drink from Long Live Roxbury to sip while you sculpt.
- Hands-On Instruction: A relaxed, hands-on pottery workshop guided by an experienced host.
- Pottery 101: Learn foundational hand-building techniques like pinch pots and coils, then turn them into functional pottery with pieces like mugs, bowls, vases, or planters. We’ll also show you how to add fun touches like handles or texture.
- All Supplies Provided: We bring the clay, tools, and materials — you just bring yourself.
- Beginner-Friendly Vibes: Laid-back, no-pressure energy perfect for first-timers, solo guests, and friend groups alike.
- Feel-Good Energy: Enjoy a welcoming, community-centered experience hosted at unique local spots — from breweries to plant shops and cozy cafés — that make the experience feel extra special.
Ceramic Clay Upgrade Add On (available for additional purchase): We’ll take one of your pieces back to our studio where our studio pros will glaze and fire your pieces to make them waterproof and food-safe. Then, we’ll ship your pieces back to you when they’re finished, in 6-8 weeks. One add-on per piece required.
Want to add color? Painting is not included at this workshop. A dedicated pottery painting session is offered at the Pottery With a Purpose Studio in Needham, MA.
