Boston Performances You Can Stream
Just because COVID-19 upended the live, in-person music scene doesn’t mean you can’t stream them. Here are some performances that I recommend you check out this upcoming week:
Boston Celtic Music Festival
Going strong in its 18th year, the Boston Celtic Music Festival displays artists from Greater Boston’s deep tradition of music, song and dance from Irish, Scottish, Cape Breton and other Celtic communities.
Hosted by Passim, a Cambridge-based non-profit that supports a vibrant music community, the festival runs from January 14 to January 18, each day having a different style of music from its communities.
The festival is free to the public, though donations of $10-25 are available to support the artists during these challenging times.

Boston "Freedom & Resilience" Stringfest with Castle of our Skins
If you’re looking for more of a classical kind of concert, I would recommend checking out this local Boston-based performance. With its goal of advancing Black artistry through music and performance, Boston’s Castle of our Skins is teaming up with City Strings United, Boston Citywide String Orchestra, and Boston String Academy to put on a show that will transport you to a place of peace and calm.

Fabiola Méndez Trio
Looking for a way to spice up date night from home? What about a performance of Latin jazz and Puerto Rican-inspired music with a modern day twist? If I’ve got your interest then you should go check out the Fabiola Méndez Trio. Lead by vocalist and cuatro member Fabiola Méndez, there is no guarantee that you will be dancing by the end of their performance (knowing me, I probably would).
By the way, it’s worth noting that Méndez performed with the Puerto Rican Symphony Orchestra, so I would say that she’s pretty talented.
